On May 5, 2011, we picked up our baby: a 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia camper.
We don't have an actual baby, so we decided to pour all our time, money and effort into a 27-year-old vehicle.
These are our summer stories, travels, pictures, projects, adventures, lusted-after accessories and anything else that's fit to print.

an island adventure.
i kept my iphone in a sealline e-case (because last time i tried to capture moments over water, my phone fell into the water and never recovered). it worked just like it said it would: my phone did not get wet and i could access the touchscreen. nifty little thing.

where did we end up?
- the grotto: scrambling over rocks and swimming
- parks canada visitor centre: for educational purposes and a disappointing gift shop
- singing sands beach: hundreds of feet of ankle deep wading
- cyprus lake: to wash our hair, ‘cause bruce peninsula national park has no showers
- tobermory: for fish and chips
- this island: the unnamed one between tobermory and flowerpot island. corey crawled around the shore of the whole island while i sat on a rock
- thorncrest outiftters: for an all-day kayak rental
- verna’s gift shop: for new hats

a breakfast progression
camping guests are just an excuse for elaborate breakfasts.
we like to impress our guests and feed them well (plus many hands make light work and all that).
on the menu:
- scrambled eggs with tomatoes, super hot pepperettes and goat cheese
- boiled and grilled potatoes with salt, pepper and paprika
- museli toast with butter
