On May 5, 2011, we picked up our baby: a 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia camper.
We don't have an actual baby, so we decided to pour all our time, money and effort into a 27-year-old vehicle.
These are our summer stories, travels, pictures, projects, adventures, lusted-after accessories and anything else that's fit to print.

Ha. Went to reblog this with a note that said something like:
Dream Car #2.
And then I noticed who posted it first: Corey.
That, my friends, is what they call a LOVE CONNECTION.

Our friends are really, really, really good at making meals. This was Sunday’s Relaxed-and-Leisurely Brunch—not to be confused with Saturday’s Birdwatching Power Breakfast (granola, yogurt, fruit, perfect hard-boiled-eggs).
After many years of giant camping trips, we’ve decided that the only way to make the food situation work is to make communal meals: two or three people join forces and make all the food for all the people, one meal at a time. Next meal, someone else does all the work.
We went to Point Pelee last weekend for the spring bird migration (we saw 36 species of birds, in case you were wondering).
Our friends stayed in this perfect, charming cottage, and we slept in the vanagon in the driveway—because it was the first trip of the season, and we just couldn’t help ourselves!
Van packed and ready for Mother’s Day brunch: flowers and guacamole for Mum, borrowed ladders to return to Dad and two loads of laundry to do at their house. Parents are the best!

These strangers in Oregon make a pretty good case for driving through the state.
Images from my trip to Oregon a few weeks ago! Such a freaking beautiful place, and such awesome times spent with some really great friends. Missin’ it pretty hard right now - good thing I’ll be back in 3 months! :)
Straight from the press kit, this is one of the only photos we have of the two of us. Let’s hope the Windsor Star decides to run it…
